About the Service

Mary Seacole Housing Association delivers a 24-hour, trauma-informed supported accommodation service for individuals experiencing homelessness or at immediate risk, many of whom present with complex needs.

The service provides rapid needs assessment, safety planning, crisis stabilisation and support to enable residents to move into safe and appropriate accommodation.

The Role

As a Residential Concierge, you will ensure the safety, security and effective day-to-day running of the building while offering responsive, professional support to residents.

This is a frontline role suited to someone confident working in supported housing, homelessness or complex needs services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment
  • Conduct regular welfare and building checks
  • Monitor access control and CCTV systems
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies and safeguarding concerns
  • De-escalate challenging situations professionally
  • Complete accurate handovers, incident reports and records
  • Report maintenance and health & safety issues
  • Work collaboratively with support teams and external agencies

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or complex needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and safely
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • IT literacy
  • Flexibility to work on a rota including weekends and bank holidays
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Experience in supported housing or homelessness services
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice

Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements

This role is subject to:

  • Enhanced DBS check (courtesy of Mary Seacole Housing)
  • Right to Work in the UK (documentation will be required at interview stage)
  • Overseas Police Clearance: If you have lived outside of the UK for 12 months or more (consecutively or cumulatively) in the last 10 years, aged 18 or over, you will be required to provide a police clearance certificate from the relevant country/countries.

Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the existing Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.

Rota Pattern:
A mix of Early shifts (08:00 – 16:00) and Late shifts (13:00 – 21:00) on a rota basis.

Please note: These shift times are fixed and are not flexible due to the operational requirements of the service model. This role is for Weekends Only.

Contract Type:
12-month fixed-term contract.
