I am currently attending Central Beds College on a Supported Internship course. This is my second year of SI because covid stopped any work placements.
The reason why I’m doing an internship course is that I did two years of media in college at Level 1 and Level 2 which I passed to further my studies and expand my skills.
I have benefited from a real work environment gaining experience of working in a media setting with a company that did advertising and social media assets. After covid and when things got back up and running, I was offered the fantastic opportunity to work in Mary Seacole.
I am currently learning how to create and edit social media posts, on behalf of Mary Seacole, across all social media platforms to concise with projects such as Tap Out and the ‘Let’s Not Forget Heritage Project.
Working at Mary Seacole and gaining this experience is delightful and I’m enjoying my time learning some new skills with the staff at the Association. I am gaining more confidence because of them.
