I went through a relationship breakdown, and so ended up living in another provider in Luton, but lost my accommodation which led to me sofa surfing.
I found myself excelling in the training that MSHA offered, I went on various courses and found that I enjoyed it and I wanted to help people going forward. Then the COVID19 National lockdown hit and I found myself feeling low and lockdown had me stuck in my room for hours and hours.
This is when staff put me through to the Luton Homeless Partnership. Volunteering led to employment I had a good report from staff and was recommended by them to my current employer.
It would have been near on impossible for me to go on this journey, had the connections not been made for me.
Currently, I am a Peer Coordinator in part-time employment; it’s lovely, I feel like I am making a difference and this makes me fulfilled.
